Home Insulation
When it comes to home insulation, you will want to insulate your home so that the insulation maintains insulating value over time. Fiberglass is a good insulator because it does not absorb moisture and therefore won’t hold water, preventing permanent loss of R-value. A higher R-value represents a more effective insulation.
Chicagoland Builders' prefers Owens Corning PINK FIBERGLAS™ Insulation because, when properly installed it will not settle or deteriorate allowing maintaining its insulating power (its R-value) over time. Owens Corning Insulation products are also non-combustible.
Attic Insulation
Insulating your attic may be the #1 way to save money on your energy bills. For attic floors, Chicagoland Builders prefers to use Owens Corning PINK FIBERGLAS™ Insulation with an insulation value of R-60 (which equates to about 18 inches of insulation).
Floor Insulation
Cold floors are a major complaint among homeowners, even though they have an easy fix. Often the problem is a non-insulated floor above an unheated crawlspace, basement, or garage. Chicagoland Builders uses Owens Corning PINK FIBERGLAS™ Insulation R-19 to keep your floors feet-friendly.
Foundation Walls
When it comes to insulating your foundation wall, you home require insulation with excellent moisture resistance that will not lose any insulating power (R-value) even after long-term exposure to moisture.
Chicagoland Builders uses Owens Corning FOAMULAR® rigid foam to insulate your home’s foundation walls. It installs directly against your foundation wall from the footing to the top of the concrete wall, and it’s rugged construction readily withstands the pressure of backfilling and the effects of acids and other decaying elements in the soil.
Exterior Walls
To properly insulate your exterior walls against summer’s heat and winter’s chill, Chicagoland Builders prefers Owens Corning FOAMULAR® 250 rigid foam. This type of insulation is made up of hundreds of millions of densely packed air cells to provide exceptional thermal performance. It's also virtually impervious to moisture, so loss of R-value because due to water damage is not a worry.
